Staff: DWE, MLA, LST, LAR, MPN, TMJ, BHN
Weather: Warm summer day with mild wind
Projects: Ortolan Bunting, Great Reed Warbler, Savi’s Warbler and Penduline Tit
Today was an exciting day for the GRW team as LAR and BHN spotted 4 males and 1 female with nesting materials. They successfully ringed one of the males that was pairing up with the female in Rysjön. Two of the other males were also observed to be singing for the first time in Rysjön and Kvimaren kanal. TMJ and MLA also found a new male singing in Sorbysjön and this is the first singing male in this lake.
For the rest of the team, it was rather relaxing. DWE went out around the station to look for Ortolan buntings but without any luck. LST continued to ring birds around.
Late in the evening, MLA, LST and LAR went to Hammar to listen for Savi’s warblers and Penduline tits, but again without any success.
