Staff: DWE, MLA, LST, MPO, LAR
Weather: Sunny and warm day up to 10-12 degrees
Projects: Marsh Harrier, Great Reed Warbler.
This morning some nests of Marsh Harriers were checked by DWE and LST. They potentially found one in Sörbysjön, but needs to be confirmed during the next days.
The GRW team, MLA, LAR and MPO, prospected Rysjön and Fagelsjön and detected several sedge warbler and common reed warblers but no great reed warbler. In Fageljön, MPO saw and heard a group of reed samperlings but the GRW heard yesterday in Äslasjön was not relocated today.
Later in the morning, LAR, MLA and LST went to fix the canoe in Rysjön. During that, they saw a rough-legged buzzard as the most interesting species for them.
In the afternoon, Magnus(MFG) and Teresa (TMJ) brought all the field team to a nearby location to try to spot the capercaillie and great grey owl, being successful with the last one by finding a female sitting on a nest. For several members of the field team that was a lifer or the best view they have so far of this species.
